This assignment required the completion of three integrated essays (500 words each) to critically evaluate contemporary issues in sustainable international business. The essays drew on theoretical knowledge and real-world cases to explore stakeholder engagement, nonmarket strategies, and corporate political activity. For Essay 1, I examined Bravus Mining & Resources (Adani) in Australia, identifying and mapping stakeholders and suggesting engagement strategies based on their salience. Essay 2 involved analysing institutional theory and the Resource-Based View (RBV) in shaping nonmarket strategies, with examples from Apple and the Sunshine Coast Council. Essay 3 assessed the political risks faced by TikTok in the USA and proposed corporate political strategies to mitigate those risks, guided by Hillman and Hitt’s framework. I conducted research using academic journals, media reports, and course materials to support my critical evaluations and align them with sustainability and global business practices.
