Reflection on Previous Assessments:
Considering my performance on the last two assignments, I have reflected upon my strength and weaknesses related to analytical and practical skillsets. In the first assessment related to "fear of crime", I provided practical recommendations with clarification. I provided arguments for the necessity to advocate for factual reporting and promoting community engagement programs. These arguments provided stronger arguments for the article. In the second assessment, I understood my shortcomings in theoretical application and specification of recommendations. Reflecting upon that assessment highlighted my inadequacy to effectively relate sensationalisation by media to comprehensive criminological frameworks, which weakened my argument.
I understood my strength as I can efficiently identify any critical issues which include the sensational portrayal of crime through media and its psychological impacts. Yet I need improvement in the area of relating theoretical concepts exclusively to practical implications. Through this reflection, I came to understand the relationship between the media portrayals and societal perception of crime advocating for the practice of responsible reporting.
Through these assignments, I have learned the significance of the application of theory along with practical solutions, which adds value to the persuasion aspect and effectiveness of my arguments in future tasks.
