Another significant impact and convincing reason that why technology and digital media are now important to be used in an early years curriculum as depicted by Vidal-Hall et al. (2020) is that, the use of technology has been associated with fostering creativity among children. In addition to this, it has also been reported by Behnamnia et al. (2020) that the exposure of young children towards technology and digital media has proven to enhance the critical thinking and problem-solving skills of young children. In another example, it has been shown that using the game-based learning method through digital devices has viably enhanced the critical thinking skills of young children. The game was based on the theme of elementary science, but the attractive interface of the digital device attracted the students and motivated them to think critically and logically to win the game (Hussein et al., 2019). These pieces of evidence therefore suggest that using technology and digitalisation with young children as a part of their learning can have positive impacts on their developmental skills.
It has also been reported that using technology in the classrooms can be an opportunity for some of the students to use digital technology, as students come from different cultures and family backgrounds (Spiteri & Chang Rundgren, 2020). This evidence also strengthens the point that technology should be an important part of education so that every child can be provided equal opportunities to learn and grow using the latest innovations and technologies.
