Actions for the Future:
While performing the reflective study I gained insights into the behavioural traits that influence my leadership approach and thus plan to implement actions to counter these drawbacks. I have to develop a structured approach to managing time so that I can practice balance between consideration problem-solving and strategic planning. This will require dedicated time for effective and long-term goal setting so that the immediate issues and future objectives are balanced out. Further, I intend to work on the effectiveness of my leadership style by practising a problem-centred solution within team interactions. However, this can be dealt with effectiveness when the approach is from problem talk to solution talk. This will promote a proactive and positive team environment.
To deal with my habit of micro-management, I intend to divide the task among members and trust them with it empowering them in their decision and enhancing individual autonomy. This will promote trust-building and teamwork due to positive communication and it will need strategic oversight as I intend to avoid over-involvement. This approach aligns with my strength in high agreeableness and conscientiousness and helps me to support my team, and manage it effectively while maintaining high standards.
Success indicators:
I intend to measure success and improvement by monitoring my improvement by receiving feedback as a leader. This will test my efficiency in team engagement and balancing time management while interacting with the stakeholders across the board. This requires an assessment of the balance between a strategic approach and immediate problem-solving. The success can be monitored if the teammates feel autonomous, provide creativity and innovation and bring a balanced approach to the decision-making process.
