This case study assessment required a strategic analysis of Zara’s supply chain about its business and operational goals, along with the identification and evaluation of four evidence-based supply chain strategies, two suitable and two unsuitable. The task aimed to test critical understanding of global supply chain alignment, the application of supply chain theories, and the development of competitive strategies. Zara was selected as the subject company, and its vertically integrated, fast-response supply chain was examined to determine strategic fit. The report applied academic literature to explore suitable strategies such as supplier collaboration and AI-based forecasting, and unsuitable strategies like centralized warehousing and long-term sole-supplier contracts. The discussion was supported with recent peer-reviewed articles not listed in Mentzer’s book. The report followed the prescribed structure and used appropriate academic conventions, aligning with learning outcomes related to supply chain modelling, alignment analysis, and integration of logistics processes.
