This assessment involved analysis of a clinical case study by addressing structured questions related to pathophysiology, priority nursing interventions, and pharmacological management of a patient with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The task required integration of evidence-based knowledge, clinical reasoning, and application of current practice guidelines. The response examined the underlying pathogenesis causing Mr. Peter Brown’s clinical manifestations, including chest pain, tachycardia, and metabolic acidosis. Two high-priority nursing interventions which are continuous ECG monitoring and conservative oxygen therapy, were selected and justified using recent scholarly evidence. Pharmacological management included the use of Aspirin and Glyceryl Trinitrate (GTN), with emphasis on mechanisms of action, clinical indications, and nursing considerations. Relevant peer-reviewed literature was used to support all clinical decisions. The task met assessment criteria by demonstrating critical analysis and application of patient-centred, evidence-based care.
