This assignment required the creation of a mind map that visually represented key concepts from the subject Global Justice and Sustainability, along with a 1000-word written explanation discussing the relevance and interconnections of these concepts in the context of education. The task aimed to evaluate conceptual understanding, clarity of presentation, the structure of relationships between ideas, and the application of educational theory to real-world sustainability and justice challenges. The analysis addressed these requirements through a clearly organized mind map that placed Global Justice and Sustainability at the core, branching into interconnected themes such as globalisation, theories of justice, environmental sustainability, colonial legacies, Indigenous knowledge, and transformative educational strategies. Each node reflected course readings and core theories, such as Nancy Fraser’s parity of participation and epistemic justice. The written component explained how global inequalities, environmental crises, and education are linked historically and conceptually. The discussion highlighted the importance of decolonised curricula, SDGs, and interdisciplinary learning to empower learners as change agents. The mind map and written explanation together demonstrated deep theoretical integration and practical application of educational justice frameworks.
