The essay covers the story of a Nursing error that took place in Tumut Hospital where a patient died because proper and appropriate care was not provided. Though some vital signs of patient disease were observed in the initial assessment, however the same observation was not done after giving Panadol to the patient. Nurses initially thought that the patient condition is not severe; hence the attending physician was not called upon. According to her autopsy report, the cause of her death was Neisseria meningitides Septicemia that could have been avoided if proper investigation was conducted. Pregnancy nausea and vomiting masked the real cause of vomiting which was the increased intracranial tension due to meningitides.

Naomi Williams was 6 months pregnant visited the hospital 18 times over 8 months with vomiting and anther symptoms that are similar to drugs withdraw symptoms. During her last visit to the hospital, nurses missed out on diagnosing her properly, as in terms of appearance the patient appeared to be fine. |

She felt that she doesn’t want to go the hospital because they always treat her like a junkie.
