Moreover, the scores in other quadrants were up to my expectations as I knew that I have self-awareness and management skills, and I also knew that I lack a bit in the area of social awareness, because it takes some time for me to adjust to new surroundings and fully become aware of it.
Slide 12:
My strongest competency with the EI model
Based on the results of the EI model, my strongest competencies include self-awareness and self-management. I believe that being able to reflect on my strengths weaknesses and capabilities and managing my skills along with the other responsibilities are a few good qualities of me which will help me in the future while working in a professional context.
Slide 13:
Opportunity for improvement within each quadrant
- One key to improving self-management is self-monitoring, as it allows an individual to keep track of all the actions within a specific time frame.
- For self-awareness, the Johari window diagram can be used, as it aims to improve the self-awareness of individuals in easy steps (Dawn, 2019).
Slide 14:
- For social awareness, engaging in training and development programs based on human relations, behaviour and anger management can help develop the required competencies of empathy. Moreover, engaging in formal activities can upscale social engagement enhancing organisational awareness (Kastberg et al., 2020).
- To improve relationship management, effective leadership practices can be considered, such as authoritative, coaching style, affiliative etc. Moreover, interacting smoothly with clients and team members and working collaboratively can also help build relationship management skills (Goleman, 1998).

Example of demonstration of the four quadrants of Golemen’s model of EI at the workplace:
Self-awareness: I was working on a group presentation, where every member had to bring new ideas of service delivery for differently abled people. My members were presenting their part, and when I had to go to the stage to present my point, I noticed that my hands were shivering and I was feeling anxious. I stopped for a moment, took a deep breathe, recalled my skills and strengths and started to present my points with confidence.
